About POSH Skill Introduction Course

In 2013, the Government of India introduced the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) This Act, also known as the POSH Act. This law requires organizations and employers to establish measures to prevent sexual harassment at workplace. It specifies several compliance requirements, including the need to raise awareness about POSH among employees. This is generally accomplished through training sessions and other initiatives designed to educate staff about their roles and responsibilities under the Act.

Sexual Harassment is defined as follows in the POSH Act:

“Sexual harassment includes unwelcome sexually tinted behavior, whether directly or by implication, such as:

(i) Physical contact and advances,
(ii) demand or request for sexual favors,
(iii) making sexually colored remarks,
(iv) showing pornography, or
(v) any other unwelcome physical, verbal or non-verbal conduct of a sexual nature.”
